About Me

I was born in St. Petersburg, FL and have spent most of my life growing up in Florida, Tennessee and Illinois. I competed in soccer, cross-country and track throughout high school and went on to compete in indoor/outdoor track as well as Cross Country at Division I, Southern Illinois University.  After graduating from college, I took a couple years off from competing, but really missed it. Since I was a lifeguard every summer throughout high school and college, I started to enjoy swimming and I began getting more interested in triathlon’s.  As a kid I had competed in a few sprints and remembered it being fun.  I started training on the bike and swim more often.  I competed in my first 70.3 Ironman in 2011.   As an amateur triathlete in 2011, I qualified to compete at the 2012 70.3 World Championships and the following year I made the USA Team to compete at the ITU Olympic Distance World Championship in London.  During my 2013 season I also qualified for my pro card at Vineman 70.3 Ironman.
For the passed 4 years I have been working full time and competing.  I have decided to focus more on training and racing this year and will be working part time.  I’m very exited for this opportunity!  One of my goals within the next 2 years is to qualify for the 70.3 World Championships.

Interests

I love sports, especially watching football and going to games! I also love to go hiking.  I have spent a lot of time hiking in the Canadian Rockies over the past 6 years and have had the opportunity to explore out West; Zion National Park, Arches, Wave Hike and the Grand Canyon.
